Hey Slick, have you taken a look at the new Flying Lead miniature skirmish rules from Ganesha Games? Definitely worth a look if you are into modern/near-future/WW2 skirmish gaming.

Funny you should mention that I downloaded it a few days before I made this guy. I am writing a review/first impressions article ill be posting about FL on onemonk's site once i get it done (if i ever get it done)! Slick

There is one problem with doing moder stuff. Most BDUs are the same.... So your figures will tend to look similar but with different colors and camo patterns. So I figured that the only thing that will set most figures apart is the load out. So I started working on the armory. Below is a pic of what I have got done as far as weapons go. Enjoy Slick

OK i finaly have something of an army list made up for these guys. As of now these are becoming a priority due to a local game group that I came in touch with over the weekend who are BIG modern war gamers so I figured id help out some locals. Below is the rough army list. I'm going to try to fit 12-14 figures in a 7x10in area so i can get the maximum amount of figures out. As i said in my last post the only thing that makes each figure stand out is the weapon so the more i can get to a page the more weapons i can load them out with. The lists are based on 14 model figure sets.
Troops: 10x ARs, 4x ARs with GL Heavy: 8x HMG, 4x RL, 2x RPG Sniper: 4x3 with 3 different sniper weapons, 2x spotters with AR CQC: 4x2 with 2 different SMG, 4x SG, 2x pistols Special Ops: 8x carbines, 3x SMG, 2x SG, 1x GL. pistols: 3x4 with 4 difference pistols.
KEY: AR=Assault Rifle GL=Grenade Launcher SMG=I hope i don't have to explain that one SG=Shotgun
That about sums it up for now. The list above actually can be used again. In my picture above I have made mostly US based guns but I have been working on making stuff for NATO(FaMas, HK) and Russia(AKs). The list can go on and on so ill try to just get the top ones done and go from there. As soon As i get the figure parts made ill move this to its own forum.

I'm just about set to get these guys up and running with there own section. Below is a test to see how the different weapon sizes will look on a finished figure. All the core parts are done and now i just need to make a bunch of griblies to go onto them. Slick

OK I finally decided on a release structure for these guys. As I said before the actual BDUs from different countries are VERY similar so what I am going to be doing is making 10 figure poses, 9 standing and 1 kneeling. Then swap out the different weapons that I have created to give the figures variety. I understand that using 10 base figure poses might sound a bit lame but trust me I have about 50 real world weapons that I have vectored and when you change the weapon the figure does look different (even next to a figure with the same pose). Besides making new figure poses for 50 guns would take me forever. Each set will be 10 figure poses with 2 different weapons. Ill be starting with the assault rifles. I have broken them into 3 categories Western, European and eastern. Below is a pic. Also since there are only 10 poses I thought I would give a good variety of colors so that you can mix and match up colors and weapons to create a good looking army. Below is the camo patterns that will be included in each set. Well that about sums up where im at now. Ill get going on posing the figures and then getting the sets rolled out. Slick

Looking good Slick But ..................... you seem to have British DPM in the eastern camo's section and your european section seems to owe more influence to U.S schemes than european. This is an excellant site for ideas/influences www.kamouflage.net/Just about every real life camo pattern you could ever want, including WW1 & WW2. mags

This is an excellant site for ideas/influences www.kamouflage.net/Just about every real life camo pattern you could ever want, including WW1 & WW2. mags I love that site there is a TON of info there, it has been bookmarked! My choices were based on sevral things all of them totally unrelated to reality. Due to my inexperience with creating tillable patterns I was forced to use existing textures that are free to use in a commercial setting. I was unable to find a good digital pattern for the US so i went with something that looks close to it. Eastern patterns are a close resemblance to Russian Kamysh. The European stuff just happened to be the only other pattern I could find that was different from the ones I was using. Ultimately I could spend a VAST amount of time getting things uber life like but I feel that these are close to what is used. The nice thing is is that you will get each camo pattern with each weapon. This is to provide you with as much flexibility as possible. Also the units them selves will have no markings of nationality so you can use what ever pattern you would like. I was only going to go with 4 camo patterns and 4 solid colors to start with but I think the 16 camo set will work out nicely. Also as always you will get the vectors and a blank set so you can always make them as accurate as you want ;D Slick

Ok I got the first set of Assault Rifles finished. I'm kinda please with the way the 10 poses turned out. Just switching out the guns changes the figures enough so that they will look good side by side and the amount of camo patterns should lend to a huge amount of diversity. Enjoy Slick

Heh Slick! Just building up a ton of these (from all three sets), they are sweet.
When are we going to see some support weapons?
Requests would be SAW, LMG, LAW, MAW etc like GPMG's, RPK's LAW, RPG, SAW, SAW version of the sa80, sniper rifles etc.
Maybe even an ATGW like Dragon/milan?

Here is what I have done on the Support Weapons. First up will be the LMG range. I still need to draw up a M60. Each gun will have 5 figure poses so there will be only two sets. After this I want to get some Missle/RPG launches and Sniper Rifles done. Then on to SMG. Slick
